He secured these wins with three different clubs, Ajax in 1995, Real Madrid in 1998, and with AC Milan he secured the double wins in 2003 and 2007. With these wins the Surinam-born Dutch midfielder etched his name in the history books of football as the only player to achieve this honor of winning thus. In 2007, the midfield wizard has earned the title of ‘UEFA Champions League 2006-07 Midfielder of the Year’ for his stunning performance with AC Milan.
